This book of cartoons is only for those Christians who can have a laugh at their own expense. The diary of Rev Bold is very funny, and the illustrations mark well the mishaps that are all too often encountered in church. The book is a definite must-have for Christians who can look lightly at certain 'difficult' members of congregations, and laugh at stereotypes of charismatic prayer meetings. Its cool, and guaranteed to make you laugh!

I picked up this book and laughed so hard I couldnt stop to inhale. Highly recommended for members of the church who dont take the 'religion' side of their faith too seriously. The pastor of the flock is a bit mis guided but definitely has his heart in the right place. The scary thing is you begin to see a little of yourself in each of the characters

The little arrow that turns into a hand would make you think otherwise I guess

Looking for a load of laughs? Then look no further. Christianiy + Renewals resident mirth maker has gathered his cartoons about a charismatic church led by Tony Bold into a book. Those of us who attend pentecostal or charismatic churches (which includes darren ) will identify with some of the dilemmas and I defy even the most straight laced not to laugh out loud while turning the pages. Pleasingly the humour of Bold's Fold avoids decending into sarcasm or nastiness while still achieving a chuckle and a prod at our occasionlly ludicrous extremes. ( look for samples at boldsfold.com )

I was shown this book by a friend on a trip, I couldn't put it down! I read it at every meal time and every other free moment I had, I spent all my time laughing out loud and reading it to them. If you have any position of leadership within a church, this book is a must have. It will help you keep your sanity as you deal with God's beloved - the only problem is I won't look at some members of my congregation in quite the same way ever again

Completely unputdownable! I had to keep re-reading it to try to find my favourtie cartoon - a difficult decision, but I finally settled on the "You are my king" page. Only buy and read this if you are in an appropriate environment to be able to laugh out loud repeatedly without too many people staring at you!

Darren's cartoons are a regular feature in "Christianity" magazine, and in this volume he has gathered a series together to illustrate the dirary of Tony Bold, fictional charistmatic church leader. Those who attend Pentecostal or Charistmatic churches will enjoy the twist given to many familiar situations. Funny, silly, and not entirely reverent, Darren manages to amuse but not insult.

I could probably do something about that if I was clever. Like my friend Tim for example. He knows all about these sort of things.
